Triceratops

4/20/22 Triceratops cast, Burke Museum

It’s been a long time since I visited the Burke Museum – more than two years, in fact. The last time was with USk Seattle when I took on the enormous mastodon replica at the museum’s lower entrance. I wasn’t quite so ambitious during our visit last week – I made a quick sketch of a triceratops skull – but it was good to be back among all the ancient bones and eons of biological history.

  1. Lived in Seattle Area for more than 30 years. Burke Museum was a favorite place to visit! Especially thrilling were the shows of artists telling stories of the stunning natural beings we can discover via their collections. One of most memorable visits were discoveries of the artist, Ray Troll, who is still amazing us with his work as an artist in residence at the Coho Soho gallery in Ketchikan. Discover his work!
