From Cheerleader to Bruce Willis

3/6/21 Shawna, 5-min. poses (scenes from "Die Hard")

5-min. pose ("Die Hard")
In her ongoing series of Zoom life-drawing sessions of ultra-short poses, Shawna never disappoints. Using improv acting cues, she strikes impressively varied poses in amusing roles. This time she was a cheerleader, a hula dancer, a pirate, students posing for school portraits, and characters from the 1988 movie Die Hard. For these sessions, she is typically minimally clothed; for maximum amusement as I drew, I pictured Bruce Willis in a red bikini.

By the way, if you’re interested in getting urban sketching practice of people in a safe, fun way, there’s nothing better than super-short (30 seconds to 10 minutes each) life-drawing poses. Shawna offers these sessions on first and third Saturdays every month from 4 – 7 p.m. (Pacific time). Her fee is on a sliding scale of $10 to $20. A terrific deal for three hours of fun, not to mention excellent people-drawing practice! (More info here.)
