5/2/22 Fremont's Saturn Building |
Six years ago when USk Seattle met in Fremont, I
tried to find a way to get both the Fremont Rocket and Saturn (atop its namesake building) in the same composition. Even though I kept walking
around, trying to find a spot that would work, nothing did. I had to settle for
the Rocket alone.
Taking a rainy walk through Fremont last week, I stayed dry under a store awning to sketch Saturn. As I continued my walk, I suddenly found the spot that would enable me to put the Rocket and Saturn together in the same sketch! With no shelter in sight, I pulled out my Field Notes for a wet and hasty sketch: At last, two Fremont icons together. Now that I know where to stand, I’ll come back on a dry day for a more leisurely sketch.

Were you standing at the centre of the universe, perchance?
