7/10/20 Maple Leaf neighborhood |
It was 4:30 p.m. The temperature was 69 degrees. Dragging a
kitchen chair out to our front porch, I had about a half-hour before the sun
would dip below the edge of the porch roof and hit me in the face. Across the
street, our neighbors’ trees were beautifully backlit.
I have seen this view countless times. I don’t know why I
had never appreciated it enough to sketch it before this day. My world had to
become very small for me to see what has always been right before my eyes.
