12/2/22 Around 6:45 a.m., Maple Leaf neighborhood
Last year when I sketched this house across the street at 6:35 a.m., someone was awake. Last week, it was still dark inside at 6:45 a.m.
except for the tiny illuminated trees in two windows. Not even the porch light
was on. A light dusting of snow overnight had made their car more visible.
When I posted this sketch in the Urban Sketchers Facebook group, someone had quipped that if I drew during the daytime, I could see better. As I sketched, I was thinking the opposite: I need to get up earlier, because by the time I finished at 7:05 a.m., the sun was creeping close enough to the horizon that I could see too much.
I can almost feel the quiet of the morning! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was hoping you'd get that feeling!
