While other parts of the region had been getting several
inches of snow, we had been spared much accumulation. The pattern for several
days was to get a light dusting overnight, maybe as much as an inch, then
daylight temperatures would rise enough to melt it all away, only to repeat
overnight.
I got up a little earlier than usual on Saturday, so I had plenty of darkness to make another nocturne across the street. The brightest illumination was from the street light casting reflections on the car. Last year when I sketched this house, the family hadn’t put up any lights. This year a string of modest lights is on the handrailing.
