10/1/24 Vice presidential debate sketched from live TV broadcast
The vice presidential debate didn’t raise my blood pressure
nearly as much as previous debates have (or might have, if I hadn’t
sketched). In fact, it was downright civil. Maybe because of that, I focused
more this time on trying to capture likenesses. Maybe not so much with Walz, but
I thought I captured Vance (at left) fairly well.
You did a good job capturing Vance. I'm glad it was more civil than the previous one with you-know-who.
ReplyDeleteYeah, imagine that... two candidates talking to each other like actual adults!
DeleteYes, I do think you captured Vance well. I watched with trepidation and found myself thoroughly agitated by the end, having to listen to Vance's one lie after another, some based on revisionist history, all done with a straight face, seeming concern for the electorate, and a too slick persona. Had to listen to some analysis afterwords to calm me down! I worry that too many won't bother to fact check either side. But you are right, the civility at least was refreshing.
ReplyDeleteI was ready for the lies. That's why I sketched... it still helps my blood pressure! ;-)
