On my way to meet the Friday sketchers at 6 Arms, I walked
through the Washington State Convention Center. Along with a variety of art exhibited on its walls, the Convention
Center offers unusual views that are difficult to get elsewhere in the city, such
as this one of (I think) Union Street. On a gray, drizzly morning, one small
maple was on fire on an upper-level plaza across the street, while other trees
on the street level were still as green as ever.
Kate found me
sketching Union Street, and after I finished, I caught up with her on an upper
floor, where I found another unique view. Traffic on Interstate 5 is somewhat
fictionalized in my sketch – it would have to have been about 2 a.m. for this
few cars to be in view.
After we both finished our sketches from the Convention
Center, we walked up the hill to 6 Arms.. .

Love the way you simplified the tall buildings, here. The birds-eye views are great!

Tina, I almost missed this one. Nice job on the views from the building. LOL Even at 2 am in NY the roads aren't that empty. Good job!
