According to Wikipedia,
pampas grass (or Cortaderia selloana) is native to southern South America. The
highly adaptable plant can grow in a wide range of environments and climates.
That must explain why it’s commonly seen in these parts, though not usually in
traffic circles. I was surprised to find these feathery fronds growing in an
intersection not too far from home.
(That crooked car on the left? It was parked half on the
sidewalk; half on the street.)
I love the little touch of foliage in the traffic circle!
