7/13/19 Othello Light Rail Station |
I don’t visit the Othello area of south Seattle’s Rainier Valley
neighborhood often. In fact, it’s possible that I’ve only ever seen it through
the window of a light rail train on my way to or from the airport.
Meeting a friend for brunch in the area a few days ago, I arrived
a bit early and walked to Othello station. A shared right-of-way for cars, buses
and trains, the station area is a tangled mess of power lines, light poles, traffic
signals and signs. It’s a beautiful mess.
There is beauty in the mess. Neatness is overrated.
