4/17/25 Kwanzan cherry trees near Green Lake |
As I’ve mentioned on other occasions, I always try to make
my daily fitness walks as expeditious as possible by working them into errands
or appointments. I’m lucky to live in a neighborhood where many amenities I use
are within walking distance.

4/17/25 My first urban couch of the season! |
OK, so it’s not strolling home from an open market with a baguette sticking out of my straw basket, but these shopping trips on foot always make me feel so European.

Great drawings as usual. I never really comment on your blog but read it every day and find it inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michael! I appreciate knowing you are out there reading, even if you're silent! :-)
DeleteAha. Another street couch.
ReplyDeleteIt IS very European! I still have my German shopping baskets that I used for walking trips to the store.
Tote bag isn't very European, but easier to carry. ;-)
DeleteYou are bringing back memories of when I was first married and living in Berkeley across from the campus. We didn't have a car (except for a few times when we borrowed one from his parents who lived in Moraga) and enjoyed walking everywhere we needed to go or taking the bus if it was too far. There was a small grocery store not too far away that we would walk to with the dog, tying her up outside and bringing what we bought home in our day packs - not even remotely European but more post college 70's. I was eating a lot of grapefruit back in those days as part of a diet regime and remember when that store had them on sale - I want to say something like ten for a dollar. About all I could get in that back pack and boy was it heavy for the return trip!
ReplyDeleteA nice image, though... you huffing and puffing with your pack full of grapefruits! ;-)
