To my southwest, this house toned down its excessive lighting from last year. While still confetti colored, the lights on the
bushes have been scaled back. I like them – not too much, not too sparse (not
that anyone does Christmas lights too sparsely). Their car in the driveway
reflects some of their lights (or perhaps their neighbors’). Like last
year, they have at least two trees.
Happy holidays from Weather Bunny, and may all your Christmas sweaters be ugly! |
I've done less and less decorating over the years - it's just me and since the pandemic, no one drops by anymore, everyone just want to meet somewhere to "do coffee" so I don't always see the point of putting out decorations just for me. But this year I got REALLY lazy. I buy a couple of yearly limited edition ornaments, almost out of habit and the ones that came this year are all I put out! I live in a duplex townhouse and one year I had retired neighbors on the other side who had sold their house and moved into town. They were used to putting up lots of decorations but not much you can do to the front of our place. Still, they went for lights over the garage door and a few other decorations. I praised their efforts and they asked if I'd like the lights continued over my garage door. GO FOR IT! I even found a wreath I could hang between our garages. It was the nicest thing anyone had done for me in a long time. Unfortunately they've moved on and not many people have put up decorations in my neighborhood this year, but people come and go quite a bit along this street of rentals. Next year could be totally different. I love your decorating without having to break a sweat - my kind of decorating anymore. Merry Christmas!
