How’s this for a test of one’s resolve: Take a walk and spot
a spectacularly red Japanese maple, then sketch it in graphite only (at left)? It’s the
kind of thing that people say “builds character.”

On the other hand, some sketches are purely satisfying because the scenes seem to be made for monochrome: This beautifully backlit street.
Tina, your character is healthy and robust, as is the lovely graphite sketch. (Your sense of humour is intact too: Cathryn and I laughed out loud.) ~David Miller
ReplyDeleteHa-ha -- thank you, David! :-)
DeleteYou captured both scenes well with just the graphite. I'm trying to catch up on some of the postings I missed while I was away and since I got home. I'm having more of a hard time adjusting to being back with all that has gone on. My trip already feels like a lifetime ago.
ReplyDeleteI bet it was really strange to be living your wonderful "Venice life" and then get dumped back into harsh reality! Take it easy, Joan!
