For me, sketching is a hit or miss game.
This morning at Zoka Coffee, I got the proportions wrong on
the man with the orange coffee mug (lower left) – his torso looks too long (I blame his
shirt, which wasn’t tucked in, so I couldn’t see his belt line), and maybe his
arms, too. But I was pleased with the folded hands of the man wearing
headphones (praying to his iTunes god, no doubt). The woman reading her tablet
turned out to be an OK composition.

Two hits, one miss: Not bad for a 16-ounce cup of coffee.
The blueberry scone wasn’t too bad, either.

The one man does look a bit long in the torso, but the other two sketches are super. I really like the one of the man with the blue headphones...the color really makes it pop, and his hands came out really well. I find it is hard to do hands from a distance...or is it my eyes that are the problem? LOL
