When I was in my mid-20s, nearly done with graduate school but clueless about what I would do with a creative writing degree and my life in general, I went through an interesting phase: I bought all kinds of stuff personalized with my name. The usual coffee mugs, keychains and other kitsch, but even some high-end stationery items, including a metal business card holder from the Levenger catalog. It’s hilarious now to realize how my identity crisis had manifested in such a literal way!
Thankfully, that phase was short, and I eventually found a direction. Apparently, though, I still have a hard time resisting certain personalized items.
Well, cool. Where did these come from?
