The neighbors across the street usually put up excessively
garish holiday decorations, but thankfully, they are relatively subdued this
year. Perhaps it helped that Thanksgiving and the days following were so cold. They
might not be done, though. . . in years past, Thanksgiving weekend was
just the beginning, and they would continue to add more decorations as it got
closer to Christmas.
Material note: I used Pilot Juice Paint Markers for the lights, and the blobs got away from me in a few places. Like Posca paint markers, these markers require a light, dotting touch – a little too much pressure and pfffllt.
You really evoked a Christmas scene with just hints of color.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think scenes like this require minimalism.
DeleteHello, i just saw your post about vintage caran d'ache supracolor soft pencils, i also stumbled an online shop in my local area sell the old version of caran d'ache supracolor soft, i want to ask if vintage color pencils still works great? Or are they dried up or crumble? Thank you
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the quality of the pencil, usually determined by the brand. Most of my vintage Caran d'Ache have shown almost no aging qualities. Colors are still vibrant, and they feel as good as new. But I've used other old pencils that are dry and seem to have faded.
