Holiday Lights, 5:53 a.m.

11/28/20 Across the street

Right on cue, the family across the street put up their holiday lights the day after Thanksgiving. The family before them used to put up a perfectly straight line of very bright white lights, and we jokingly called it the annual theater marquee. The current family, with two young kids, is more casual with their decorating, and the lights are smaller, which I appreciate.

By the way, this is the same house I sketched several times a couple of years ago when its large addition was going up. It was a lot more fun sketching it in the dark when I couldn’t see enough to measure or care about proportions and angles.
