If there’s one thing that’s certain about fall weather in these parts, it’s that it changes day by day, hour by hour. That old joke about how if you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes? Yeah.

On Wednesday I got caught sketching in the rain. The next morning we woke to thick fog (one of my favorite sketching subjects), which burned off by lunchtime. I took a walk in the afternoon in a T-shirt as I sketched this Japanese maple.
