On our ride home from the airport Monday afternoon, the
first thing I noticed was that the trees were no longer hinting at color as
they were when we left town on Aug. 22; they were now making a statement: Fall
is here. This aspen growing in a traffic circle a few blocks from our house was
fully green when I left. Today it looks at about the same stage as it was when I sketched it in October last year.
Have the trees turned earlier this year?
